Society Auctions

 

Please remember that the privilege of buying and selling in Society auctions is extended to members only.  Bids submitted by non-members will not be honored.

 

 

Conditions of Sale

 

  • All lots will be sold to the highest bidder at one raise above the second high bid.  Equal bids will be considered in the order in which they were received.

  • No bids will be accepted below the minimum bid.  Ceiling bids are encouraged.  Purchase limits will be respected.

  • Catalogue numbers used in the auction are Scott, unless otherwise noted.  Numbers separated by a dash (as in 1-9) indicate a complete set; numbers separated by a slash (as in 1/9) indicate an incomplete set.

  • We reserve the right to withdraw any lots prior to the auction closing date.

  • Invoices will be sent at close of auction, and lots forwarded upon receipt of full payment in U.S. dollars.

  • Any lot that is found to be incorrectly described may be returned within 10 days of receipt.  Lots and collections of 10 or more items, or lots of undescribed stamps, are not returnable for any reason.

  • The placing of a bid constitutes acceptance of all the foregoing conditions of sale.

S Superb (perfect centering)
VF Very Fine (premium quality)
F Fine (perfs do not touch design)
A Average (perfs touch or cut into design)
Faults Not normally noticeable from face of stamp
Defects Minor but noticeable from face of stamp
Filler Space filler; damaged
